Angie Dominguez obtained her Master in Clinical Social Work from Barry University as a Clinical Social Worker. She previously graduated from the University of Miami, majoring in Psychology. She has been in field of clinical practice providing services for children, adults, and family in our diverse community for over 40 years. Her experience includes conducting groups in the areas of stress management, attention deficit disorder, developmental issues, domestic violence, and issues affecting women.
As a Certified Parent Effectiveness Trainer, she conducted parent’s skill building trainings. In addition, she has had extensive training and experience in the area of loss, divorce, play therapy, family and couple’ therapy, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders.
She has provided treatment within a strengths-based approach with a focus on helping clients develop mindfulness and learn how to make cognitive behavioral changes in their lives towards a life with fuller balance and the necessary self-care. Beginning from a psychodynamic and humanistic perspective, her clinical includes, solution focus therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches.
Angie has had her clinical practice in the Kendal area since 1979 as Angela C. Dominguez, PA. Over the last 15 years she has offered her expertise working for Anaga. She works in its substance abuse program, as an evaluator and psychotherapist providing individual and group counseling as well as conducting groups for women. Angie has been a member of the National Association of Social Worker. Angie has held positions as an administrator, clinical director, and quality control supervisor in community agencies serving children, families and adults.
Angie is an avid gardener who maintains her own butterfly garden and fruit trees. She also enjoys sharing time with her dogs and cats. traveling, reading, walking, phonography, music, and films.
