George Gonzalez, LMHC
George graduated from Florida International University with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health. Since 2007, George has been serving the South Florida community as a mental health counselor. His work has been extensive as a group facilitator, as well as with individuals, in the fields of anger management, domestic violence, substance abuse and grief counseling, He has also worked with many clients who struggle with depression and anxiety. His methods are a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic/existential approaches and mindfulness-based stress reduction practices. In addition to working as a mental health counselor, he has worked as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College since 2010 in the Social Sciences Department, teaching all levels of Student Life Skills, Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Psychology of Personal Effectiveness. His personal philosophy is “that helping and teaching others has a reciprocal effect, where you are helped and taught in the process as well.”
George enjoys being close to nature, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
